Hello and welcome back! Today's post is my contribution to the Little Read Dress Project 2020! This is a challenge this was hosted on Instagram by the Twilight Stitcher! The challenge was for any participant to make a red dress for the holiday and the final day to submit is well... today LOL. I had several challenges getting the pictures together with the weather being not so picutre friendly, so here I am, on the last day to submit! Anyway, I made it! Below you will find pictures and a detailed pattern Review!! You can also watch me in action as I model my dress here by clicking the link on my YouTube channel here! Enjoy! Front View- Below

Pattern Review Pattern Number: McCall's 8142 Pattern Description: Misses' Dresses Pattern Sizing: 6-24 Size that I Cut: 18 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes, for the most part. I felt the sleeves did not look as belled as they should but were ok overall. Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the gathers in the skirt front and the back middle seam at the neck. I also liked that it was a pull over dress and the sleeves were wide. Fabric Used: Red crushed Velvet Fabric Purchased: Walmart Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Yes! I made the whole dress and the skirt portion of the dress was soooooooo very short! I figured it would be once I looked at the pattern piece for the lining but I thought I would try it anyway. That was a huge mistake! Once I attached it to the bodice and tried it on, I knew that was not going to work so I cut out new skirt and lining and made it all over again and added SIX INCHES on to the pattern. Once I did that, I was about to get the results that you see in the pictures above! Now imagine me in the pictures without those six inches added!!!!!!! Would I sew it again? No, because I am ok with only have one dress like this but I do like it. Would you recommend it to others? Yes!!!
