My Sunflower Dress! Vogue 9100
Hello everyone and welcome! Today I am sharing with my you my sunflower dress that I made!! I have always been a fan of flowers, especially sunflowers and while I was shopping for fabric one day, I came across this beautiful sunflower fabric so I had to get it! I immediately knew which pattern I wanted to use to get the look that I wanted for this dress, but not only did I want a certain look, I wanted to take pictures in the sunflower fields because I thought it would be so cool! The pattern that I used is V9100! Although I was not 100% pleased with this pattern, I do like the overall look. To learn more in detail, you can watch the full live review on my YouTube channel by clicking here! There is also a full review below the pictures!! Thanks for stopping by!
Pattern Number: V9100
Pattern Description: Misses’ Dresses that has a close-fitting lined bodice with princess seams, side pockets, narrow hem, back zipper, and topstitching and there are separate pattern pieces for cup sizes A, B, C and D. Sewing Skill Level: Easy, but I think it should probably be for the advanced beginner or intermediate.
Pattern Pieces: There are a total of 13 pattern pieces for this pattern but I only needed to use seven pieces to make this which includes the front bodice cup size D, bodice side front cup D, back bodice, pocket, the skirt front and the skirt back. Notions Needed: 14 inch zipper and hook and eye, but I didn’t use the hook and eye.
Pattern Sizing: 6-22
Size that I Cut: 18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like about the pattern? I love the fit and flare design, I love the design of the bodice, I like the pockets, I like the skirt width and length and I liked that it had princess seams. What did you particularly dislike about the pattern? Although I like the princess seams, something was off! Once I sewed the bodice together, the bodice where the princess seams were sewn, I could hold the dress up and it look like pointy boob cups were sitting in my dress. I I also had to adjust the strap by a lot! Fabric Used: 100% Cotton
Purchased: Hobby Lobby
Alterations or changes: Took four inches off of the straps to make it fit properly on my shoulders; adjusted the princess seams Any modification recommendations: Check the straps before topstitching Would you recommend it to others? Yes, because it is still a nice dress
Reason for making: I thought this dress would be a great fit for this fabric and I also thought it would look fabulous with my pictures.
