Citrus Dress Pattern Review

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog!! I have not posted in a while because I was down with a cold and then I was busy with the Thanksgiving holiday but I am back to post all that I have been making! Today's post is a pattern review of the FREE Citrus Dress pattern by Mood Fabrics that I used to make the dress that I am modeling in the pictures below! Once I altered all that needed to be fixed, I truly liked how it turned out.

I discovered this dress pattern because @sewyourview on Instagram used this pattern for their monthly challenge in October and I made it to participate! You can click here to have access to the FREE pattern! Below the video, you will find still pictures, my youtube review link and a detailed pattern review of the Citrus Dress that is featured today! You can also click here to watch it on my Youtube channel or click the play icon below if you wish to. Don't forget to subscribe if you do!!

Pattern Review!

Pattern Number/Name: Citrus Dress Pattern Description: Misses’ Dress Pattern Sizing: 2 - 30

Size That I Cut: 18, but I had to make many adjustments to get the fit right.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes, after my alterations but not before. Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the simplicity and the faux placket with the button options. Fabric Used: Waffle Fabric Purchased: Walmart

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This dress was not designed for my body type. I was able to fit it in the upper belly, underneath by boobs to be specific, but I had to take it in by a lot in the hip area and underneath the arms down to under the bust area. I would say I took out at least three to four inches and I also had to adjust the sleeves (not pictured above). The sleeves were baggy and not fitted like the picture at all. Would you sew it again? No, because I had to make too many adjustments. Sometimes fabric recovery can be an issue that can cause this but because there was so much fabric to take in that I do not believe that was the case. Would you recommend it to others? Yes, it is an easy pattern and it probably works for those who are more curvy in the hip area.
