Backcountry Balaclava -- A Winter Hat with a MASK!
So.... the temperature here where I live is currently 43 degrees, with wind! Burr!!! If you don't already know, I have two toddlers (one and two years of age). The two year old is finally wearing his mask without taking it off, mainly because he wants to look like us LOL, but I will take the win! Anywho, when I cannot fall asleep at night, I usually search websites and read blogs for inspiration. One of the websites that I visit often is Peek-a-boo pattern shop. I like that side because there is a good variety of PDF patterns to choose from. While visiting the site, a new release popped up and it is the Backcountry Balaclava (you can find it here)!!! How perfect was the timing of this release!!! I say that because the numbers of COVID-19 cases are spiking at a level high in the county where I live. I try to keep the babies in as much as possible to avoid infection, but when I have to take them out, I thought this would be perfect because it will serve multiple purposes... A warm hat, it will keep their ears and neck warm, and it will cover their face and nose!!! I stopped sewing up my current sewing project once I downloaded the pattern to make this right away!!!!!!! Below you will find pictures and a review of the pattern. If you would like to see the balaclava in action visit my YouTube channel by clicking here and you will find a full review!! Thank you for stopping by and stay warm!!! Front View-Below
