Hello and welcome back!
The Christmas holiday is near and I have a parties to attend!! I do not like to wear the same dress to different parties.... due to the sake of pictures, so I needed to make a couple of holiday dresses. This post is all about the first holiday dress that I made.
While looking through patterns during a great pattern sale at Joan Fabrics, I ran across Vogue 9246. I am very simple when it comes to dresses and I really like this pattern because it is simple but yet fancy at the same time. I like how the dress has princess seams and puffy sleeves.
The fabric that I used is a crushed velvet that I ran across last winter at Walmart. I didn't purchase it at that time because I didn't think that I would ever make anything with that type of fabric, but I went back to Walmart after seeing the picture on the pattern and they still had it...... a year later.
What I like most about this dress is the the puffy sleeves! The design of this sleeve makes the dress perfect for the look that I was going for. I want to make sure that everyone sees the sleeve so I styled my hair to be in an up-do.
Overall, I feel that this dress is very festive and I am happy that I made it. I will be making my next holiday dress soon and that will also be my contribution to the Little Red Dress Project for 2017. I'm pretty excited about that!
