McCall's 7598 "Sew Your View" Sew-Along
Today I will be sharing my contribution to this month's Sew Your View sew-along challenge. The pattern that all of the participants used is McCall's 7598.
While looking at all the pattern views, I was drawn to view D. One reason why I was drawn to view D is because I didn't like the top portion of views A and B, and I had recently made a long dress so I did not want to make another long dress like view C (even though it is pretty).
Although I was drawn more towards view D, I struggled with the saggy crotch look. The look reminded me of the "M C Hammer" pants that everyone wore when he was popular LOL. Needless to say, I made anyway.
Once I put the jumpsuit on, I looked in the mirror and shocked myself because I fell in love with it!!! This is not something that I would have normally picked up and that is one reason why I love these sew-alongs...... It forces me to come out of my comfort zone and sew looks that are out of my norm.
One thing that made me like the jumpsuit is that fact that it is comfortable and roomy. I usually prefer more fitted clothing, but at times I do not want fabric clinging to my body...... Sometimes I just want to relax and I want my close to fit loose. Another feature that was appealing to me was the use of trim. I feel that even though I pick a plain, solid color, the trim allowed the garment to pop...... You know.... Some BLING!
Overall, this was a great experience. I love the jumpsuit and I think I will make it again. Below you will find more pictures and a pattern review.
