Colors of the Flags Challenge

Hello and Happy 4th of July!!

Today’s blog post is about this beautiful and flowy dress that I made using the Simplicity pattern 8383 view D.

I have been wanting to make this dress since I purchased the pattern so I decided to use it to make my dress for the Colors of the Flags Challenge, #4thOfJulyProudDressProject on Instagram!!

The pattern was extremely easy to sew up and I think it’s very cute and forgiving!

As mentioned in my previous two blog posts, I made all of the garments for my vacation as a challenge.  I finished this dress prior to vacation so I took this along as well and people loved it!!

The fabric that I used is a liverpool knit. This was my first time using that type of fabric. I wasn’t so sure if I liked it when I first felt it because it feels spongy and it kind of reminded me of scuba knit with a little texture. The fabric is a little heavy and it stretches as well, so I did have to cut my original 16 down to a 14 to make it fit properly. I will definitely order more liverpool knit in the future!

Look below for more picture views!
You will also find the pattern review below that describes the details while making this garment!!
