My name is Talisha and I am wife, mother and a lover of the ARTS!! I enjoy designing, putting on events, making crafts, but my biggest passion right now is sewing!!
It all started when I wanted a dress but could not find it at any of the stores that I shop at. I thought to myself.... “I can make this!!!”
I personally believe that there is nothing that I cannot do as long as I put my mind to it and make it into a reality. My sewing (along with other things) is evidence that this is true!
Sewing has been such a satisfying hobby for me and it is also therapeutic.
When I finish a project, I look at it and say to myself, “I did that!”
It gives me a great sense of accomplishment and great styles at an affordable price!
Today's post is about three different patterns that were designed by LeJanaro Barnes.
I truly love purses, coin bags, wristlets, etc. so the launch of her patterns were exciting to me!
Two of the patterns were actually free! All you have to do is subscribe to her newsletter and you can get the Annie Pack and Angie Clutch...
Hello! Today's post is McCall's 7430. I made this dress a while back but didn't get around to posting it. I actually forgot that I had the dress because I was pregnant and couldn't wear anything like that so it had made it's way to the back of the closet.
While searching for something to wear to church last Sunday...
Hello!! Welcome back to the blog!
Today's post is about the dress I made for Easter. I had the pattern cut out for months but never got around to making the dress.
The dress is New Look 6145. It is a simple shift dress with a wide collar.
I was drawn to the dress because of the collar.... it is different from the "norm"...
It's been a while since my last post due to the fatigue of pregnancy.
However, I back to feeling normal again after delivering a beautiful baby boy last week and I will share details on the blog later.
Today's post is about a poncho that I made for my niece in January..... Yes, January....
I did post this o...
Hello everyone and happy holidays to you all! Last year I was amazed at all of the beautiful dresses that were made for the Little Red Dress Project on Instagram but I was not able to participate because I had just heard of the challenge and didn’t have time to put a dress together.
Although I wanted to participate this y...
Hello and welcome back!
The Christmas holiday is near and I have a parties to attend!! I do not like to wear the same dress to different parties.... due to the sake of pictures, so I needed to make a couple of holiday dresses. This post is all about the first holiday dress that I made.
Today's post is about this cute Poncho/Cape that I made using McCall's 7202 (you can find it here).
I have been wanting to make a simple lose fitting coat for this winter and I looked on line and in the catalog books at the fabric stores to compare the finished looks and this was the one that I picked. McCall's 7202 is a...
Hello and welcome back!! I know I have been absent on the blog for a while but I have been super duper busy and had little time to sew.
Even though I have only had very little time to sew, I have managed to make a few outfits and crafty items that I will share with you all very soon!
I have been eye-balling the pattern for a while. I actually picked it up a long time ago but I never made an attempt to make it. I was drawn to this dress because I am attracted to more simple but yet chic styles.
While going looking through Instagram, there were to different profiles that I follow that inspired me...
My church announced that we were going to have a Warfare service and they wanted everyone who was willing to dress in some type of camouflage. Now of course this was not required in any way shape or form nor does the camouflage print have any effect on the service, but it was something...
